Colours
Ragdolls are pointed cats they have colour on all their main points, their ears, faces, tail and legs. Their body colour is a slightly lighter shade than their point colours. The Ragdoll has a medium length soft non matting coat, they have a nice fluffy neck called the Ruff and the fluff on the back of there legs is called “Britches”. The Ruff and Britches are mostly white in colour.
Ragdolls are available in four basic colours, Seal, Blue, Chocolate and Lilac Point. However the Ragdoll colour range now includes the Red (flame) Point, Cream and also Torties. The Kittens are all born completely white and the colours start to show within the first few days to a week, Seal and Blue are usually easy to discover with Chocolate and Lilac showing within 3- 4 weeks. All colours are evident by 8 to 12 weeks of age.

Patterns
There are four basic patterns among the Ragdoll breed.
Colour point - Their point colours are a darker colour on the face (mask), ears, legs and tail. There are no white markings, and there body colour is a lighter shade than there point colours.
Mitted - They are similar to the Colour point with there darker shades on there points the difference is that they have white mittens on there front legs and their back legs are also white, with the white extending up their legs like boots. Their body colour is a lighter shade than their points.
Bicolour - They have a distinctive inverted white “V” on their face, their legs, feet, Ruff and Tummy are all white. They have a darker colour on their face and tail.
Lynx - The Lynx Pattern is a stripped variation in any of the above patterns on the face, tail and legs.
Alternatively to the above four patterns we have the Tortie and the Torbie. The Tortie is a tri colour and the Torbie is a Tortie /Lynx pattern
